SDC Container LLC — Dumpster Rental Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: December 3, 2025  ·  Last Updated: September 28, 2026

Short version. Rent a container for 3, 7 or 14 days. Delivery and pickup are included. Keep everything below the top rail, keep the prohibited items out, and make sure we can get in on delivery and pickup day. Everything else below is the detail.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order for dumpster/container rental services with SDC Container LLC — via our website, phone, or other communication — the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Services Provided

SDC Container LLC may provide one or more of the following services:

  • Dumpster/container rental
  • Delivery (DROP OFF) & Pickup (PICK UP) services — included in your rental price. We strive to accommodate your scheduling needs and will do our best to coordinate a convenient drop-off and pickup time.
  • Disposal facilitation at authorized facilities
  • Optional container sales or modifications (if applicable)

3. Container Sizes, Rental Periods & Included Services

Rental periods

The rental period is the term selected at the time of booking — 3, 7 or 14 days — beginning on the date of delivery. Extended rental periods are available; contact us at the time of booking or before your scheduled pickup date.

Each additional day beyond the selected rental term is billed at $25/day.

Overweight charges are $25 per 0.1 ton over the included allowance.

Customer must provide safe, unobstructed access for delivery and pickup. Containers must not be blocked, barricaded, or overfilled. Overfilled containers may incur trip fees or labor charges for compliance.

4. Customer Obligations & Site Conditions

The Customer warrants that:

  • The drop-off location can safely support the container and delivery vehicle.
  • Driveway/roadway access will be clear on both delivery and pickup days.
  • The container load will not exceed the height of the container walls; a tarp or cover must close completely before pickup.
  • Customer will not move, alter, or tamper with the container.

If the Customer fails to return any dumpster, SDC Container LLC reserves the right to enter the premises to retrieve the container at Customer's expense.

5. Prohibited Contents

Customer agrees not to load prohibited or hazardous materials of any kind. The following items are strictly prohibited from all containers:

  • Hazardous materials: paint, solvents, oils, chemicals, pesticides, asbestos, propane tanks, fuel containers
  • Electronics: TVs, computers, laptops, monitors, and any devices containing internal batteries (e-waste requires separate disposal)
  • Appliances containing refrigerants: refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners
  • Liquid waste, sewage sludge, or any other liquid
  • Tires — no exceptions
  • Medical or biological waste
  • Radioactive or biomedical materials
  • Vehicle parts
  • Ashes
  • Mattresses and box springs — not accepted under any circumstances
  • Yard waste, including leaves, grass clippings and brush
  • Clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, curtains and other textiles
  • Dirt, soil, concrete, bricks, gravel, stones, or any other masonry material — these require transport to a landscape/construction debris facility and incur separate charges (see Section 6)

If a prohibited or restricted item is found in the container:

  • A $200 removal fee will be charged per occurrence, regardless of quantity.
  • Any surcharges assessed by the disposal facility due to non-conforming materials will be passed on to the Customer in full.
  • Items requiring removal and transport to a specialized facility (e.g. bricks, concrete, dirt, stones, gravel, or other heavy inert materials) will be charged at $80/hr for trucking and labor, in addition to the $200 removal fee. Time begins when the driver arrives on site and ends upon return from the disposal facility.
  • Containers may be cleaned or disinfected for up to $300 per container if restricted or hazardous materials are present.

If you are unsure whether an item is permitted, call us before loading it.

6. Fees, Overages & Additional Charges

The base rental price includes DROP OFF, PICK UP, and the weight allowance listed in Section 3. There is no separate haul charge and no percentage added at the end; the only other charge is the booking fee in Section 12, disclosed before payment.

Payment terms

Additional fees (overweight, extended rental, special items, prohibited item removal) are charged post-pickup/disposal and must be paid immediately. Past-due balances may incur interest, collection fees, and legal fees.

Authorization to charge the payment method on file

When you book online you are asked to tick a box authorizing SDC Container LLC to charge the payment method you provide, both for the rental total and for any additional fees incurred under this agreement. Those additional fees are the ones set out in the table above and in Section 5 — overweight, extended rental, prohibited-item removal, and any disposal facility surcharge passed through at cost. They arise after the container has been collected and weighed, which is why they cannot be charged at the time of booking.

This authorization is limited to charges arising under this agreement for your rental. We will tell you what the charge is for before or at the time it is made, and the disputes paragraph below applies to every one of them. If you would rather be invoiced than charged, tell us before delivery and we will arrange it. You may withdraw the authorization at any time by contacting us, though any amount already owed for a completed rental remains payable.

Reservation process: place your reservation and pay the booking amount shown at checkout — we will confirm your DROP OFF and PICK UP times.

Disputes. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us first at 617-459-7536 or steve@sdccontainer.com. We will review any disputed charge in good faith. Nothing in these terms limits any right you may have under applicable law or your card issuer's rules.

7. Liability, Indemnification & Risk of Loss

Once delivered, containers and their contents are under Customer control. Customer assumes all risk for property damage, container misuse, overloading, improper disposal, or prohibited materials.

Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless SDC Container LLC — including its owners, employees, and partners — from all claims, damages, fines, penalties, costs, or attorney fees arising from Customer's use of the container.

SDC Container LLC is not liable for property damage due to site conditions, improper placement, or container misuse, nor for indirect damages, lost profits, or disposal facility rejections.

A roll-off truck and a loaded container are heavy. Driveways, aprons, septic systems, drain covers, irrigation lines and pavers can be damaged by that weight even when everything is done correctly. If you have any concern about the surface, tell us before delivery and we will discuss placement or the use of protective boards.

8. Permits, Approvals & Compliance

Customer is solely responsible for obtaining all necessary permits, approvals, and paying any associated fees — including road/street permits, HOA approvals, and municipal requirements — for container placement. SDC Container LLC is not liable for citations, fines, or towing costs resulting from unpermitted placement.

9. Entire Agreement, Modification & Severability

This document contains the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior agreements. Modifications must be in writing and signed by both parties. If any provision is found unenforceable, all remaining provisions remain in full effect.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate state or federal courts in Massachusetts.

11. Customer Acknowledgment

By placing an order or making payment, the Customer confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions above. This agreement becomes binding upon delivery of the container to the Customer's designated location.

12. Delivery Windows, Rescheduling & Cancellation

Delivery windows

Deliveries are scheduled into windows rather than exact times, because a roll-off route is affected by traffic, scale-house queues and the job before yours. The windows we offer are:

You do not need to be home

For a driveway placement you do not need to be present, provided the spot is clear and you have told us where to put it. Use the placement notes when you book — "left side of the driveway, clear of the garage door" takes five seconds to type and prevents most placement problems.

If the spot is blocked on arrival — a parked car, a locked gate, another container already in place — and the driver cannot place the container, that is a dry run and the $175 trip fee applies. The same applies on pickup day if the container cannot be reached or is loaded above the fill line.

    Rescheduling

We would always rather move a delivery than turn up to a job that is not ready. Call 617-459-7536 as soon as you know.

    Cancellation and the booking fee

If we cancel or cannot deliver for a reason within our control — a truck problem, a scheduling error on our side — you are not charged, and any booking fee already taken is refunded in full.

Severe weather, road closures and similar events outside anyone's control may require a delivery to be moved. We will contact you to rearrange and you will not be charged a rescheduling fee in those circumstances.

    Rental period start

Your rental period begins on the day the container is delivered, not the day you booked. If we move the delivery, the rental period moves with it.
