Boxes are drawn with their length in proportion to capacity, so the sizes compare fairly against each other. They are not a scale drawing — call us before measuring a tight driveway and we will give you the exact footprint of the box you are booking.

What the 20-yard is for

This is the dumpster for whole-property work. Clearing an entire house before a sale or after a move. A larger roof tear-off, knowing a full multi-layer roof will pay overage by weight. Construction debris from an addition. Demolition where a wall, a deck or a garage is coming down and the volume is genuinely unpredictable.

It carries 2 tons of included disposal weight — the largest allowance we offer, and the reason it often works out cheaper than two smaller containers for the same job. Two rentals means two deliveries, two hauls and two rental periods.

Estate and full-house cleanouts

Full-house clearouts are the job the 20-yard was made for, and they are also the job where the prohibited-items list matters most — because when you are emptying an entire property you are not choosing every item that goes in the box.

The things that most often cause a problem in a house clearout are mattresses and box springs (never accepted), clothing, bedding and curtains (textiles, banned from disposal in Massachusetts), televisions and computers (e-waste, separate disposal), fridges, freezers and air conditioners (refrigerants), and paint, solvents and fuel from the back of the garage. Any one of those triggers a $200 removal fee plus whatever the disposal facility charges us on top.

Worth ten minutes before the container arrives: walk the property and put anything from the prohibited list to one side. It is far cheaper to make one trip to a recycling center than to have it found at the scale house.

Access and placement

The 20-yard needs a real run at it. A long driveway, a wide gate, or a clear stretch of hardstanding. If your driveway is short, steep, or you have to thread between two parked cars, the 15-yard is the safer choice even if the volume argues for going larger — a container that cannot be placed is no use at any size.

If you are not certain the truck can get in, call us before you book and describe the approach. A two-minute conversation beats a dry-run fee.
