Roofing, siding or a deck coming down in Methuen? Tear-offs are the job where having the container already on site pays for itself, because the debris arrives all at once and there is nowhere to put it.
Good driveway room across most of the town, tighter in the older streets nearer Lawrence. Straight up 93 then across 213.
We are a family-owned container company run by Steve, a local firefighter raised in this area. You book online in about a minute, see the exact price before you pay, and deal with the person whose name is on the truck.
Roofing and exterior work in Methuen
Shingles are heavy. A single layer of architectural shingles comes off at about 300 pounds a square, so a 15-yard's 1.5 tons covers roughly ten squares, and most full roofs in Methuen go past that and pay the overage by weight. A roof shingled over more than once weighs about what you would expect two roofs to weigh. Run the roofing calculator or tell us how many layers are coming off, and there are no surprises on the ticket.
The Music Hall and the Searles legacy
Methuen has a concert hall built for a single instrument. Edward Searles put up the Methuen Memorial Music Hall around the turn of the last century to house a great organ built in the 1860s for the Boston Music Hall, and recitals still run there through the summer. Searles left his mark all over the town in stone, including the castle-like Searles Building downtown and the Nevins Library. The Festival of Trees fills the hall each holiday season.

- Nevins Library events Year round, Broadway.
Most of Methuen has room for any size on the driveway. The older streets down toward the Lawrence line are closer set and better suited to a 10 or 12 yard.

Getting the truck in
Most Methuen deliveries are a driveway drop and take a few minutes. What slows one down is access: a gate nobody has the key for, a vehicle parked in the spot, or an address that turns out to be the office rather than the site. Those three account for nearly every wasted trip we make.
Methuen requires a Board of Health permit for every temporary dumpster, driveways included, on top of the fire department permit the state fire code requires. For a street spot, the Board of Health also needs approval from the Police, Fire and Public Works departments. Getting the Board of Health and fire permits is the customer's responsibility, and the Board of Health permit must be obtained at least three business days before delivery. See Methuen in our dumpster permit guide for the source and the neighboring towns. If you are unsure whether your spot works, describe it in the notes when you book and we will tell you before the truck is loaded.
Loading the container
Load heavy material low and flat, keep everything below the rim, and set aside anything on the prohibited list before you start rather than after. Mattresses, old clothes and linens, tires, paint, electronics, appliances with refrigerant and yard waste all need a different route, and a prohibited item found at the gate carries a $200 fee. The full lists live on the FAQ page.
Asbestos can't go in the dumpster at any price. If you're removing old siding, roofing, floor tile, pipe insulation or plaster, have anything suspect tested first; newer buildings are not automatically clear. What we cannot take ›
Methuen questions
How much does a dumpster cost in Methuen?
Methuen pays the same rates as every town we serve, starting at $475 with delivery, pickup and disposal included. The extras are listed up front: the $19 booking fee, and fees for going over the weight, keeping it longer or loading a prohibited item.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Methuen?
On your own driveway you need the fire department's dumpster permit and a Board of Health permit. The state fire code requires the first for any dumpster over 6 cubic yards that stays overnight. In Methuen, the Board of Health requires a permit for every temporary dumpster, private property included. For a street spot, the Board of Health also needs approval from the Police, Fire and Public Works departments. Getting the Board of Health and fire permits is the customer's responsibility, and the Board of Health permit must be obtained at least three business days before delivery.
How long can I keep the dumpster in Methuen?
Three, seven or fourteen days, chosen when you book. The 7-day is only $25 more than the 3-day on every size we run, which is almost always worth it. If you need longer once it is on site, extra days are $25 each.
