The town's Independence Day parade has run since 1922 and is the largest in Massachusetts, stepping off at 5pm on North Avenue and covering two miles before fireworks go up over Lake Quannapowitt. The lake is also where the farmers market sets up every Saturday morning from mid-June through October, and where Festival Italia happens each August.

Placement and permits in Wakefield
