Renovating in Ashland? Demolition produces debris far quicker than most people plan for, and a pile on the driveway becomes a problem by day two. A roll-off container on site from the start keeps the job moving.
Ordinary suburban driveways in most of the town, tighter in the old center near the station. South from Hudson through Southborough.
We are small on purpose. Running Ashland out of the Hudson yard keeps the trips short, the windows tight, and the accountability obvious, because there is nobody else to blame if a container turns up late.
Renovation and remodel debris in Ashland
Kitchen and bathroom work in Ashland tends to produce dense debris rather than bulky debris — tile, plaster, backer board, old cabinetry and subfloor. That matters because you will hit the weight allowance well before you fill the box. If your project involves tile or plaster, plan on weight rather than volume.
Where the Marathon used to start
The Boston Marathon started in Ashland for its first quarter century, and the original starting line is still marked on Pleasant Street even though the race moved to Hopkinton in 1924. The runners still come through town every Patriots' Day. Ashland State Park wraps around the reservoir with a beach and trails, and the town center has grown around the commuter rail station.
- Boston Marathon Third Monday in April, through town on Route 135.
- Ashland State Park Summer, off Route 135.
- Ashland Day September, town center.
Route 135 closes on Marathon Monday and it cuts the town in half, so we do not schedule across it that day. The rest of the year Ashland is a straightforward run with driveways that take any size.

The most common mistake on an Ashland job is ordering one size too small. Not sure? The item picker and the weight, roofing, drywall and deck calculators work it out in a minute, free.
Getting the truck in
Most Ashland deliveries are a driveway drop and take a few minutes. What slows one down is access: a gate nobody has the key for, a vehicle parked in the spot, or an address that turns out to be the office rather than the site. Those three account for nearly every wasted trip we make.
Ashland requires a Board of Health permit for every temporary dumpster, driveways included, on top of the fire department permit the state fire code requires. A street spot also needs permission from the Select Board. Getting the Board of Health and fire permits is the customer's responsibility, so apply before delivery day. See Ashland in our dumpster permit guide for the source and the neighboring towns. If you are unsure whether your spot works, describe it in the notes when you book and we will tell you before the truck is loaded.
What we can and cannot take
The prohibited list is not arbitrary. Mattresses, textiles, electronics, tires, yard waste and masonry are banned from disposal in Massachusetts under the state waste bans, so the disposal facility is not allowed to accept them from us or anyone else. General household debris, furniture, wood, drywall, roofing and metal are all fine. The item picker flags the restricted ones as you tap them.
Asbestos can't go in the dumpster at any price. If you're removing old siding, roofing, floor tile, pipe insulation or plaster, have anything suspect tested first; newer buildings are not automatically clear. What we cannot take ›
Ashland questions
How much does a dumpster cost in Ashland?
From $475 for a 10-yard kept three days, up to $800 for a 20-yard kept fourteen. Every price includes delivery to Ashland, pickup and disposal of the included weight, and the $19 booking fee is shown on screen before you pay.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Ashland?
On your own driveway you need the fire department's dumpster permit and a Board of Health permit. The state fire code requires the first for any dumpster over 6 cubic yards that stays overnight. In Ashland, the Board of Health requires a permit for every temporary dumpster, private property included. A dumpster on a street or sidewalk needs permission from the Select Board. Getting the Board of Health and fire permits is the customer's responsibility, so apply before delivery day.
How long can I keep the dumpster in Ashland?
Three, seven or fourteen days, chosen when you book. The 7-day is only $25 more than the 3-day on every size we run, which is almost always worth it. If you need longer once it is on site, extra days are $25 each.
