Dumpster Rental in Lexington, MA

10 to 20 yard roll-off dumpsters for Lexington, delivered from our North Reading yard at one published price.

Selling a house in Lexington? A cleared property photographs better, shows better, and stops a buyer's inspector writing paragraphs about clutter in the mechanical room.

The streets around the Battle Green favor a 10 or 12 yard, while the subdivisions off Route 2A take a 20 easily. Short driveways and tight sightlines are the reason in the historic district. We come down 128 to Route 4, or in on Route 3A.

We are a family-owned container company run by Steve, a local firefighter raised in this area. You book online in about a minute, see the exact price before you pay, and deal with the person whose name is on the truck.

Listing prep and move-outs in Lexington

Listing work in Lexington runs on somebody else's calendar. Photos are booked, the open house is set, and the container has to be gone before either. Take the 7-day rather than the 3-day: it is $25 more on every size we run and it buys back the weekend you would otherwise spend watching the clock.

Patriots' Day on the Battle Green

Lexington's year is built around one April morning. The reenactment of the 1775 skirmish on the Battle Green steps off before dawn on Patriots' Day, the third Monday in April, and the parade follows in the afternoon down Massachusetts Avenue. The rest of the year the town is quieter. The farmers market runs Tuesday afternoons through the summer, and Discovery Day fills the center on a Saturday in late May.

  • Patriots' Day reenactment and parade Third Monday in April, Battle Green and Massachusetts Avenue. Reenactment around dawn, parade in the afternoon. The center is closed to traffic for most of the day.
  • Discovery Day A Saturday in late May, town center.
  • Lexington Farmers Market Tuesday afternoons, summer into fall.

Massachusetts Avenue through the center closes on Patriots' Day and the streets around it fill from early morning. Book that week ahead of time or plan around it. Everywhere off Route 2A is a normal run.

Where the dumpster goes in Lexington

A driveway is usually the easiest answer: no parking dispute, and the box sits where you are actually working. Lexington requires a Board of Health permit for every temporary dumpster, driveways included, on top of the fire department permit the state fire code requires. A street spot also needs permission from the Engineering Division (a right-of-way obstruction permit). Getting the Board of Health and fire permits is the customer's responsibility, so apply before delivery day. The dumpster permit guide lists this rule and its source next to every other town we serve.

Walk the spot once before delivery day. Low branches, overhead service drops, a soft shoulder and a car that has to get past all week are the four things worth putting in the placement notes, and all four are far easier to solve before the container is on the ground.

Loading the container

Load heavy material low and flat, keep everything below the rim, and set aside anything on the prohibited list before you start rather than after. Mattresses, old clothes and linens, tires, paint, electronics, appliances with refrigerant and yard waste all need a different route, and a prohibited item found at the gate carries a $200 fee. The full lists live on the FAQ page.

One thing no fee can fix is asbestos: no Massachusetts facility will accept it. Have old siding, roof shingles, floor tile, pipe insulation or plaster tested before it comes off, whatever the age of the building. What we cannot take ›

Lexington questions

How much does a dumpster cost in Lexington?

Lexington pays the same rates as every town we serve, starting at $475 with delivery, pickup and disposal included. The extras are listed up front: the $19 booking fee, and fees for going over the weight, keeping it longer or loading a prohibited item.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Lexington?

On your own driveway you need the fire department's dumpster permit and a Board of Health permit. The state fire code requires the first for any dumpster over 6 cubic yards that stays overnight. In Lexington, the Board of Health requires a permit for every temporary dumpster, private property included. A dumpster on a street or sidewalk needs permission from the Engineering Division (a right-of-way obstruction permit). Getting the Board of Health and fire permits is the customer's responsibility, so apply before delivery day.

How quickly can you deliver to Lexington?

Often same day or next. Same-day deliveries, and bookings made after 5pm for delivery the next day, carry a $75 rush fee, shown on screen before you pay. Same-day orders placed after 2pm roll to the next operating day. We deliver Monday through Saturday, 7am to 5pm, and answer the phone later than that.

Prices, fees and rental terms are the same across our whole service area. See the Terms of Service for the complete fee schedule.
